Less well-known than Long Jing but equally exquisite in quality, the Zhu Qing Green Tea (straight, slender leaves that resemble bamboo shoots) hails from the misty highlands of Ya’an, Sichuan, a rare and refined green tea with a distinctively smooth and crisp profile.
Zhu Qing tea is hand-picked in early spring, focusing on tender young buds and first leaves, embodying the freshness of the season, offering a bright, clean, and elegant taste with a lingering natural sweetness. Unlike some green teas that lean towards overly grassy or excessive bitter notes, this Zhu Qing has refreshing clarity and smooth mouthfeel. A clean taste with the signature characteristics of green tea, complemented by a subtle sweetness that gently balances its natural bitterness with each steep.
The tea brews to a pale jade infusion and is a perfect choice for those who appreciate softer green teas! An easy choice for everyday enjoyment.
We like it best steeped for about 30 to 45 seconds.
Storage: To maintain freshness, store in a refrigerator and consume within a year.
Brewing Advice: Use 4g of tea in 100ml of water at 80°C, steeping for 20 to 45 seconds in a Gaiwan style, lasting up to 5 to 7 steeps.
Each gongfu style serving is carefully packed in individual cans of 4g serving. If enjoying the tea on your own, you can easily split each can into two to three servings and steep for a slightly longer period each time, allowing you to savour the experience over multiple sessions.
